New Correctional Sections Opening Soon in Three Provinces

The Ministry of Justice announced today the upcoming launch of new correctional sections in three provinces. This move aims to reduce overcrowding in prisons and improve the management of inmates. According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Ahmad Laibi, the new plan will directly address the issue of overcrowded prisons.

Laibi explained that the strategy includes relocating prisoners based on their classification to their respective provinces. This decision will help reduce congestion in existing facilities while ensuring a more effective and manageable prison system.

In addition to the relocation, the Ministry has prioritized the rehabilitation and expansion of current correctional sections. This initiative will ensure that the facilities are better equipped to handle the increasing number of inmates. Furthermore, the Ministry has worked on constructing entirely new correctional sections to meet the growing demand for space and better living conditions for prisoners.

The Ministry of Justice is preparing to open these new facilities in three key provinces: Baghdad, Wasit, and Maysan. These areas were selected based on their need for additional correctional space, as well as their ability to support new facilities efficiently.

By implementing this plan, the Ministry aims to improve the overall condition of the country’s prisons. This move is part of a broader effort to ensure that the correctional system meets the needs of both the prisoners and the staff who oversee them.

The upcoming opening of new correctional sections in Baghdad, Wasit, and Maysan represents a crucial step in reducing overcrowding in prisons. It is also an important part of a larger strategy to modernize and expand the country’s correctional facilities.
