Iraq Ranks Second Among OPEC’s Largest Oil Producers

Iraq Ranks Second Among OPEC’s Largest Oil Producers, according to the latest data released for August 2025. The announcement confirms Iraq’s growing role in global energy supply and reinforces its importance to international markets.

According to the new OPEC report, Saudi Arabia remained the top producer, outputting 9.709 million barrels daily. Meanwhile, Iraq followed with 4.015 million barrels per day. This placed Iraq firmly in second position among the group’s oil producers.

The United Arab Emirates secured third place, producing 3.255 million barrels per day. Right behind, Iran recorded 3.218 million barrels per day. Kuwait came next with 2.492 million barrels daily, confirming its continued role in the organization.

The report also detailed production numbers from several other member states. Nigeria reached 1.549 million barrels daily, while Libya recorded 1.299 million. In addition, Algeria produced 940,000 barrels, and Venezuela reported 936,000 barrels each day. The Republic of Congo contributed 259,000 barrels daily, reflecting its smaller but notable share.

Iraq Ranks Second Among OPEC’s Largest Oil Producers, demonstrating the country’s resilience in a competitive sector. The achievement highlights Iraq’s capacity to meet increasing energy demand despite regional and global challenges.

OPEC emphasized that overall oil production across its members remained relatively stable in August. Stability remains central to the group’s strategy, as member states continue to balance supply with demand. By doing so, OPEC aims to maintain price stability in the international market.

Furthermore, Iraq’s high output strengthens its economic position. Increased oil production supports government revenues, which are crucial for funding national projects. The energy sector continues to serve as Iraq’s main financial driver, influencing both growth and development.

In addition, the report underlined oil’s ongoing importance for global markets. Energy prices, financial performance, and trade flows remain directly linked to OPEC’s production strategies. As one of the leading producers, Iraq plays a central role in shaping these outcomes.

Iraq Ranks Second Among OPEC’s Largest Oil Producers, securing both recognition and responsibility. By maintaining strong output levels, Iraq not only boosts its own economy but also contributes to global energy security.

In conclusion, Iraq’s ranking reinforces its place as a major oil power. With careful planning and cooperation with OPEC partners, Iraq can continue supporting global stability while advancing its own development goals.
