Iraq and Serbia Discuss Economic Cooperation and Investment Opportunities

Baghdad, Iraq- Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with Serbian Ambassador Branislav Žeželj on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral ties and explore new economic partnerships. The discussions focused on investment opportunities, trade expansion, and deeper collaboration between the two nations.

During the meeting, Ambassador Žeželj delivered an official invitation from the Serbian President, inviting Al-Sudani to visit Belgrade. Additionally, Iraq received an invitation to participate in Expo 2027, which Serbia will host.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Serbia, particularly in infrastructure investment. He encouraged Serbian companies to explore Iraq’s growing market and take advantage of new investment opportunities.

To facilitate stronger economic ties, Al-Sudani proposed enhancing coordination between the investment authorities of both countries. He also suggested establishing an Iraqi-Serbian Business Council to foster private-sector collaboration.

By improving trade relations and investment frameworks, both nations aim to unlock economic potential and create opportunities for businesses in key sectors. The discussions reflect Iraq’s ongoing efforts to attract foreign investors and strengthen its economic partnerships worldwide.
