Rwanga Foundation Launches Major Job Fair in Mosul

Rwanga Job Fair Mosul opened on Tuesday and immediately energized the city’s job market. The Rwanga Foundation organized the event with the Dijla Agricultural Association. The United Nations Development Programme supported the initiative, and BMZ funded it through the German Development Bank. The organizers aimed to boost employment in Mosul while strengthening private-sector participation.

The foundation brought a large network of companies into the fair. More than 50 private businesses arrived on the first day. They offered over 150 real job opportunities to young people from Mosul and nearby districts. Moreover, organizers encouraged more companies to join throughout the two-day program. They highlighted the city’s urgent need for new employment channels.

The fair ran from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both days. The schedule remained tight because organizers needed efficient communication between companies and job seekers. They also included several capacity-building workshops that strengthen practical skills. These sessions help participants prepare for interviews, workplace demands, and private-sector expectations.T

The Organizers confirmed strong community engagement and presented clear and direct job offers to applicants. Many employers explained their needs and encouraged youths to apply immediately. Furthermore, the event took place at Ashur Mall in central Mosul to ensure easy access.

Rwanga Foundation representatives reported tremendous interest on the first day. More than 1,000 job seekers arrived with resumes and documents. Many youths expressed frustration with limited public-sector jobs. Therefore, the foundation encouraged them to explore private-sector careers. The team also stressed the need to reduce unemployment through targeted outreach.

Educational institutions joined the event as well. Several universities and training centers offered guidance services. Their teams advised graduates on professional development and skill-building. Students appreciated the support because many struggle to understand labor-market needs. One participant said the fair finally offered a real and reachable job opportunity.

Rwanga Foundation continues expanding its work across Iraq. Idris Nechirvan Barzani founded the organization in 2013. The foundation initially focused on improving education for children. However, it gradually moved into youth empowerment, economic development, and humanitarian assistance. It also promotes local environmental projects and supports climate-action efforts.

The Rwanga Job Fair Mosul demonstrates the foundation’s long-term commitment to the city. The event connects young people with real opportunities. It also strengthens cooperation between institutions and the private sector. Ultimately, it gives Mosul a stronger path toward economic recovery.
