Baghdad, Iraq – Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met on Saturday with Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, at the Salah Al-Din resort in Erbil.
The two leaders held in-depth discussions on the latest national developments and key political issues, reaffirming the government’s commitment to genuine national partnership and ongoing coordination with political entities across the country.
Talks focused on strengthening Iraq’s ability to address both internal and external challenges, fostering closer cooperation between the federal and regional governments, and advancing shared national responsibilities.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed his backing for continued dialogue among political groups in the Kurdistan Region and called for the timely formation of the regional government in the wake of the recent parliamentary elections.
Barzani, in turn, commended the federal government’s balanced stance on regional matters and its dedication to protecting Iraq’s broader national interests. He also welcomed the government’s efforts to maintain open communication and collaboration with all political factions nationwide.
