Toyota Iraq Warns Against Unauthorized Logo Use

Toyota Iraq warns against unauthorized logo use, urging car dealers and companies to obtain official permission before displaying its trademark. The Iraqi Ministry of Trade informed Toyota, Lexus, and Hino importers to get approval before using their logos.

Moreover, Sardar Hussein Bibani, head of Toyota Iraq, emphasized that no dealer or company may use the Toyota logo without formal authorization. He explained that only those with an official license from Toyota’s main distributor can legally display the brand’s logo.

The Ministry of Trade sent a written directive dated July 24, 2025, to the Federal Customs Directorate. On July 27, the KRG representation in Baghdad sent the same letter to the KRG Council of Ministers to align with regulations.

On August 11, 2025, Bibani announced via media platforms that an official letter from the KRG representation in Baghdad confirmed the rights of authorized Toyota logo users. The directive stated that only entities licensed by Toyota’s main distributor may use the logo.

Bibani noted that in the Kurdistan Region, this decision takes effect within two days. Any company or showroom must first meet all quality control requirements for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Then, they must sign an agreement with Toyota’s main distributor to receive permission.

Currently, Toyota Iraq and the Kurdistan Region have six authorized distributors. These companies are therefore permitted to sell the manufacturer’s vehicles directly. Specifically, in the Kurdistan Region, SAS for Automotive Services and Jihan Motors hold authorization. Meanwhile, approved distributors in the rest of Iraq are Albar, Baa’j, Al-Emlaq Al-Ahmar, and Dar Al-Mubdee companies.

Ultimately, Toyota Iraq warns against unauthorized logo use to protect brand integrity, ensure quality standards, and safeguard consumer trust. This policy underscores Toyota’s commitment to maintaining authenticity and compliance across all regions of Iraq.

This clear enforcement of logo use helps protect Toyota’s brand reputation while ensuring customers receive genuine, high-quality vehicles.
