Iraq’s Parliament Discusses Syrian Security Impact

Baghdad, Iraq – On Monday, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee held a meeting with senior security officials to discuss the impact of recent events in Syria.

A statement from the committee noted that the head of the Intelligence Service, the head of the National Security Agency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Intelligence Affairs, and the Director of Intelligence in the Popular Mobilization attended the session. The purpose was to examine the implications of the developments in Syria and their potential effects on national security.

The statement emphasized that this meeting was part of ongoing efforts to monitor security issues and take appropriate measures to safeguard the country.
