Iraqi Airstrikes Eliminate Four ISIS Militants in Zarka

The Joint Operations Command announced on Friday that four ISIS militants were killed in an airstrike targeting their hideout in the Zarka area, near the border between Saladin and Kirkuk.

According to a statement from the Security Media Cell, the Military Intelligence Directorate, under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command’s targeting cell, tracked the militants to their hideout in the Zarka sector.

F-16 fighter jets launched two airstrikes, successfully destroying the hideout and eliminating the ISIS members inside.

Earlier in the day, a security source in Kirkuk reported that Iraqi warplanes targeted two ISIS positions in the Wadi al-Shay area, about 45 kilometers south of Kirkuk in the Daquq district.

Security forces have since launched an operation at the strike site to assess the attack’s impact and confirm any additional casualties.
