Iraq and Venezuela Discuss Energy Cooperation and Global Market Stability

Baghdad, Iraq – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met on Saturday with his Venezuelan counterpart, Ivan Gil Pinto, to explore ways to enhance coordination in support of global oil market stability. The discussion took place on the sidelines of their participation in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Türkiye.

The two officials exchanged views on strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of energy, trade, and investment. They emphasized the shared interests of oil-producing nations and the importance of balancing the needs of both producers and consumers.

Minister Hussein expressed Iraq’s interest in expanding cooperation with Venezuela, especially in the energy sector and other high-potential areas of the economy. He also highlighted the role of private sector collaboration in deepening economic ties between the two countries.

In response, Minister Gil Pinto reaffirmed Venezuela’s commitment to ongoing dialogue and extended an official invitation for Fuad Hussein to visit Caracas to further discuss avenues for cooperation.

The meeting also touched on broader regional and international issues, with both sides underscoring the importance of political solutions to global crises and the principle of respecting national sovereignty.
