Iran Denounces US Interference in Iraq Agreement

Iran denounces US interference after Washington criticized the recent Iran-Iraq security agreement. The dispute has increased tensions between the countries.

Iran’s Embassy in Baghdad strongly condemned what it called unacceptable meddling. The embassy said the US comments interfere with relations between two sovereign neighbors.

Moreover, the embassy described the US stance as a destabilizing approach. It accused the United States of trying to drive a wedge between neighboring and Muslim nations.

According to the embassy, these actions violate international law and the United Nations Charter. They stressed that cooperation between countries should guide regional relations, not interference.

This criticism followed a statement from the US Department of State rejecting the Iran-Iraq security memorandum. The US said it opposes any agreement that contradicts American goals or weakens Iraq’s security institutions.

The memorandum was signed under the supervision of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. Key figures involved included Iraq’s National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji and Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani.

Iran denounces US interference, insisting the agreement strengthens regional security and cooperation. It argues that Washington’s opposition only fuels instability in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Iraq seeks to balance its relations with both neighbors and global powers. The security deal aims to enhance coordination and prevent external threats.

Despite US criticism, Iraq’s government defends the memorandum as a sovereign decision. Officials emphasize the importance of partnerships that protect Iraq’s interests.

In summary, Iran denounces US interference and calls for respect of national sovereignty. Both Iran and Iraq appear determined to continue their collaboration.

The evolving situation underscores the complex geopolitics in the region. Future developments may test the balance between external influence and local partnerships.

Looking ahead, analysts say that Iran denounces US interference while both Iraq and Iran aim to deepen their security ties. However, the challenge remains how Iraq will manage pressures from the US and its regional partners. The coming months will reveal whether Iraq can maintain its independent path and strengthen regional stability despite external objections.
