Housing Loan Applications in Iraq See Strong Growth

Housing loan applications in Iraq see strong growth, demonstrating rising demand across the country. The Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities confirmed the acceptance of over 7,200 loan applications through the Housing Fund in the first quarter of 2025.

Ministry spokesperson Nabil Al-Saffar explained that more than 7,200 applications were submitted electronically. These applications were processed from the beginning of the year until early April. This milestone showcases the effectiveness of the ministry’s digital transformation strategy.

Additionally, Al-Saffar reported that 6,182 transactions were finalized and disbursed during the same period. He explained that the disbursed loans covered three main installments. The first installment included 516 new borrowers, while the second installment accounted for 1,337 cases. Notably, the third installment involved 4,329 cases.

Housing loan applications in Iraq see strong growth thanks to ongoing financial support from the government. Al-Saffar emphasized that the total amount disbursed for all installments exceeded 111 billion Iraqi dinars. This amount covered beneficiaries across all provinces, demonstrating the broad scope of the program.

Moreover, the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities continues to encourage citizens to apply. Officials stated that easy access to funding helps stimulate the construction sector. They also believe that the rising number of loan approvals boosts economic development and job creation.

Housing loan applications in Iraq see strong growth despite economic challenges facing the country. The Ministry remains committed to expanding services through technology. Digital applications have reduced processing times and enhanced transparency.

Furthermore, officials reminded citizens that loan opportunities remain available. Interested individuals can still submit their applications through the Housing Fund’s electronic platform. This initiative supports Iraq’s long-term goal of improving living standards and promoting sustainable urban development.

Finally, the Ministry urged applicants to complete required documentation promptly. Fast-tracking paperwork ensures quicker access to approved funds. Authorities believe that these loans play a vital role in rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure and empowering families across Iraq.
