Al-Sudani Discusses Strengthening Economic Cooperation with New Indian Ambassador

Baghdad, Iraq – Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received the new Indian Ambassador to Iraq, Soumin Bagchi, today to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Sudani congratulated the Indian ambassador on assuming his new duties, reaffirming Iraq’s commitment to strengthening mutual cooperation in various fields. The two sides also discussed preparations for the 19th round of the Iraq-India Joint High Committee meetings.

Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of enhancing economic cooperation between Iraq and India, highlighting the need to establish a joint economic cooperation council and activate the Iraq-India Business Council. He also called for organizing visits for Indian companies to explore investment opportunities in Iraq and to boost collaboration between the private sectors of both countries.

This meeting aligns with Iraq’s ongoing efforts to expand economic partnerships and strengthen cooperation with friendly nations, fostering mutual interests and supporting economic development.
