Iraq Book Fair Launch Set to Highlight Baghdad’s Expanding Cultural Scene

Iraq Book Fair Launch stands at the center of Baghdad’s cultural calendar as the capital prepares for the sixth Iraq International Book Fair. Organizers confirmed that final preparations continue at the Baghdad International Fair ahead of the December 3–13, 2025 event. Iraq Book Fair Launch anchors discussions among cultural leaders who expect strong attendance and wide regional interest.

Director-General Mustafa Nizar Al-Ani stated that teams continue their work across multiple pavilions. He said workers install structures, arrange book displays, and organize seminar halls. Moreover, he explained that crews coordinate with publishers to ensure smooth participation. He added that staff also prepare visitor routes to manage large crowds efficiently.

Al-Ani emphasized the event’s expanding scale. He said the fair will host a diverse group of Iraqi publishers and noted that many Arab and international publishing houses also confirmed participation. He stressed that this growing mix strengthens Baghdad’s role as a regional cultural center. Furthermore, he explained that the event encourages dialogue among writers, artists, and readers.

Organizers plan a wide program for this year’s edition. The schedule includes book signings with Iraqi and international authors. It also features literary evenings that highlight new works and emerging voices. Additionally, panel discussions will explore cultural trends, publishing challenges, and creative industries. Facilitators will lead workshops that support young writers and introduce new publishing tools.

The fair also plans activities for students. Youth programs will encourage reading habits and connect young people with authors. Cultural initiatives will promote creative thinking and highlight the importance of literature. Moreover, organizers aim to broaden participation from schools and universities. Al-Ani said the fair provides important opportunities for cultural exchange. He highlighted Baghdad’s growing reputation as a meeting point for regional creativity. as well as, added that the event strengthens cooperation between Iraqi institutions and international partners. He also emphasized the role of the Al Mada Foundation in supporting cultural development.

Visitors will find a dynamic environment throughout the ten-day program. Exhibitors will showcase new titles across many genres. Writers will present recent research and discuss fresh ideas. Meanwhile, artists will share visual work that complements literary themes. Readers will enjoy direct access to authors and industry professionals.
