Iran Congratulates Al-Sudani on Parliamentary Victory

Iraq’s Election Milestone was highlighted on Friday when Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani. He praised the country’s sixth parliamentary elections as a reflection of the genuine will of the Iraqi people. He also extended congratulations to Al-Sudani’s political coalition, Al-Ima’ar Wal Tanmiya (Reconstruction and Development), for winning first place nationwide.

Pezeshkian emphasized that the results show Iraqis’ commitment to democracy, stability, and national development. He added that Iran supports Iraq’s continued progress and the next government’s reform agenda. His message signals the regional importance of the elections and the role they play in shaping Iraq’s Election Milestone.

Iraq completed its sixth parliamentary elections since 2003 on Tuesday. The Independent High Electoral Commission reported voter turnout exceeded 56 percent. Experts note this high participation reflects growing public trust in the electoral process. It also shows citizens’ determination to influence governance and national decision-making.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani’s Reconstruction and Development bloc achieved the largest share of votes. The coalition led in eight of Iraq’s eighteen provinces and secured 45 parliamentary seats. These results indicate strong regional support and effective coalition strategy. They also set the stage for negotiations and policy-making in the new parliament.

Within the Coordination Framework, Shiite parties also performed strongly. Nouri al-Maliki’s State of Law won 30 seats. Sadiqoon under Qais al-Khazali secured 26. Badr, led by Hadi al-Ameri, gained 19 seats. The National State Forces, headed by Ammar al-Hakim, earned 18 seats. Analysts say this distribution reflects diverse voter preferences and the importance of alliances.

Observers note these results will shape decisions on security, infrastructure, and foreign relations. Al-Sudani’s coalition faces the challenge of building broad support while balancing competing interests. Meanwhile, regional and international partners are closely watching Iraq’s political developments.

Pezeshkian’s congratulatory call reinforces the significance of the elections. It shows how international actors view the vote as a step toward political stability. The event also highlights Iraq’s growing role in regional diplomacy and cooperation.

Overall, Iraq’s Election Milestone marks a major step in democratic progress. The elections reflect increasing political engagement and strategic complexity. As coalitions negotiate and the new government forms, Iraq’s path forward remains under careful observation by citizens and international partners alike.
