Iraq’s Young Taekwondo Stars Shine in Jordan

Iraqi Taekwondo Team Victory took center stage as Iraq’s youth and junior teams delivered a stellar performance in Amman, Jordan. At the Al-Faris Championship, they won 12 medals, showcasing exceptional talent and preparation.

The team brought home six gold and six silver medals. These results highlight their progress and determination during this competitive regional event. According to the Iraqi Olympic Committee, the athletes displayed “high technical levels” throughout the matches.

Moreover, the President of the Iraqi Taekwondo Federation, Mahmoud Abbas, praised the team’s outstanding achievement. He confirmed that these wins came after focused preparations aimed at the upcoming Asian Championship in Malaysia.

Importantly, the athletes underwent a 24-day training camp in Erbil. Following that, they continued their training in Jordan before participating in the Al-Faris Championship. This effort helped sharpen both their skills and their competitive mindset.

In addition, the team’s success signals their rising readiness for tougher challenges. The Asian Championship, scheduled for July 23–29, will be a bigger stage. However, these recent victories have built strong confidence ahead of the major competition.

Abbas also announced that the Iraqi delegation is set to depart for Malaysia this Sunday. He expressed optimism about their performance, citing the recent results as evidence of strong potential.

Clearly, this Iraqi Taekwondo Team Victory is not just a one-time success. Instead, it reflects a long-term strategy focused on nurturing young talent through disciplined training and international exposure.

Furthermore, the medals earned in Jordan serve as motivation. They represent a crucial milestone toward Iraq’s ambition to dominate Taekwondo in the region.

With continued focus and support, the Iraqi Taekwondo Team Victory may soon extend beyond regional success into the continental spotlight.

The coaching staff remains committed to developing the team further. With consistent training, strategic planning, and competitive experience, Iraq’s young athletes are poised to become future champions. Their dedication today promises even greater achievements for Iraqi Taekwondo on the Asian and global stage tomorrow.
