AE-Iraq Business Forum Strengthens Economic Ties in Dubai

The second UAE-Iraq Business Forum took place on Thursday at the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel. This major event marked a new chapter in efforts to enhance trade ties between the UAE and Iraq. The UAE-Iraq Business Forum attracted business leaders, entrepreneurs, and officials from both countries.

Organizers timed the forum to coincide with an Iraqi trade delegation’s visit on May 1–2. The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry worked closely with the Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs to host the event. Their joint efforts helped bring a high-level delegation to Dubai for focused discussions.

More than 170 companies from both countries participated in the UAE-Iraq Business Forum. These firms represented diverse sectors such as energy, real estate, tourism, healthcare, logistics, and artificial intelligence. As a result, the forum offered participants valuable networking and business development opportunities.

During the forum, over 250 business-to-business meetings took place. These meetings helped companies explore potential deals and form lasting partnerships. Many attendees expressed optimism about new investment prospects and future collaboration.

A key achievement of the UAE-Iraq Business Forum was the launch of the UAE-Iraq Business Council’s first session. This new council aims to provide a formal structure for ongoing economic cooperation. Ahmed Waleed Ahmed represented Iraq, while Humaid Mohamed Ben Salem represented the UAE.

The council’s formation reflects a shared commitment to strengthen commercial relations and build trust between the business communities. The session laid the foundation for long-term strategic dialogue. It also highlighted both sides’ eagerness to expand regional economic cooperation.

Looking ahead, participants at the UAE-Iraq Business Forum voiced strong support for continued collaboration. With growing interest in bilateral trade, the forum has opened doors for further growth. Leaders from both nations remain focused on turning dialogue into action.
