Gold Prices Surge in Baghdad and Erbil Markets

Baghdad, Iraq- Gold prices, both foreign and domestic, saw a significant rise on Monday in the markets of Baghdad and Erbil.

In Baghdad’s Al-Nahr Street markets, wholesale prices for a mithqal (approximately five grams) of 21-carat Gulf, Turkish, and European gold reached 610,000 IQD for selling and 606,000 IQD for buying. Meanwhile, the price for 21-carat Iraqi gold stood at 580,000 IQD for selling and 576,000 IQD for buying.

Jewelry shops in the capital recorded varying prices, with 21-carat Gulf gold selling between 610,000 and 620,000 IQD, while Iraqi gold was priced between 500,000 and 510,000 IQD.

In Erbil, gold prices also surged, with 24-carat gold selling at 700,000 IQD, 22-carat at 642,000 IQD, 21-carat at 613,000 IQD, and 18-carat at 525,000 IQD.
