Iraqi Parliament Deputy Speaker Affirms Success of Property Restitution Law

Baghdad, Iraq- The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandlawi, confirmed that the Property Restitution Law has provided justice to many Iraqis, ensuring the return of state properties to their rightful owners. This statement came after Al-Mandlawi met with a delegation of sheikhs and dignitaries from the Khanaqin District in Diyala Governorate to discuss the local community’s needs and concerns.

According to a statement from Al-Mandlawi’s office, he was honored by the sheikhs and dignitaries for his role in the approval of the law, which addresses the restoration of properties previously confiscated under decisions made by the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council.

Al-Mandlawi emphasized that the Iraqi Parliament was dedicated to legislating this law in order to correct historical injustices and ensure that citizens whose properties were unjustly taken by the former regime would have their rights restored. He further assured that the Council of Representatives would continue to monitor the implementation of the law, working with the relevant authorities to ensure its effective enforcement.
