Support for Wounded Iraqi Heroes: PM Al-Sudani’s Commitment on Iraqi Wounded Day

Baghdad – Support for wounded Iraqi heroes took center stage as Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani marked Iraqi Wounded Day. In a heartfelt message posted on Platform X, he honored the sacrifices made by members of the country’s security forces.

Each year on June 26, Iraq observes this national day of recognition. It commemorates the brave individuals injured while defending the country. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of this annual occasion in uniting the country behind its protectors.

He stated that the government will continue its unwavering support for wounded Iraqi heroes. According to Al-Sudani, their efforts in battling terrorism and securing daily safety deserve lasting gratitude.

The Prime Minister made it clear that this support goes beyond words. Moreover, he assured citizens that Iraq remains committed to providing for the needs of wounded soldiers and their families. In fact, this commitment includes ensuring financial entitlements, medical care, and full integration into society.

He called them heroes not only for their courage in battle but also for their service in daily security roles. Their sacrifices have helped safeguard Iraq’s sovereignty and preserve peace in countless communities.

Iraqis across the country reflected on this day with pride. Many expressed appreciation for the service and resilience of injured security personnel. Public institutions also used the opportunity to highlight programs dedicated to their welfare.

Government ministries have pledged to improve services for injured veterans. These include better healthcare facilities, streamlined benefit systems, and long-term rehabilitation programs. Al-Sudani underlined that this responsibility is moral and national, not just political.

As regional tensions persist, the role of these service members becomes even more vital. Iraq continues to rely on them to maintain internal stability amid ongoing challenges.

Lastly, The Prime Minister concluded his message by urging citizens to recognize and stand by the sacrifices of these national heroes. He reiterated that support for wounded Iraqi heroes remains a top government priority.

By honoring these individuals annually, Iraq strengthens its collective identity. This recognition builds trust and unity between the state and its defenders.
