Prime Minister Al-Sudani Reaffirms Cooperation with UN During Diplomatic Meeting

Baghdad, Iraq – Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani held a meeting on Monday with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, Mohamed Al Hassan, to discuss ongoing collaboration and the transition process regarding the conclusion of the international mission’s mandate in Iraq.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the longstanding contributions of the UN mission in supporting Iraq over the past twenty years. He emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining strong partnerships with international agencies, particularly in areas such as administrative reform and environmental sustainability.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani also highlighted the importance of regional cooperation, stressing the need for joint efforts among neighboring countries to foster stability and security. He reiterated Iraq’s support for the continuing dialogue aimed at easing tensions between key regional powers.

In response, the UN representative reaffirmed the organization’s willingness to support Iraq’s strategic goals and assist in tackling regional challenges.
