Parliamentary Speaker Emphasizes Security Coordination to Strengthen Baghdad’s Stability

Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani has highlighted the critical importance of coordinated efforts between security agencies to ensure the safety and security of Baghdad. His comments came after a meeting with Lieutenant General Walid Al-Tamimi, the Commander of Baghdad Operations, where they discussed the ongoing security challenges facing the capital and its surrounding areas.

According to a statement from the media office of the Council of Representatives, the meeting, which took place on Friday, focused on the efforts to combat terrorism and enhance cooperation between security forces and the citizens of Baghdad. Al-Mashhadani underscored that maintaining security in Baghdad requires close collaboration among various security agencies, as well as active involvement from the city’s residents.

“The coordination between security forces and citizens is vital to reinforce stability and enhance the security of Baghdad,” Al-Mashhadani stated, emphasizing the role of both security institutions and the community in achieving a safer capital.

The statement further revealed that Al-Mashhadani was briefed by the Baghdad Operations Command on the current security situation and future plans to fortify security, particularly along the outskirts of the city. They discussed measures to protect the Baghdad belt from potential terrorist infiltrations, as well as efforts to ensure the continued security of Baghdad and its surrounding areas.

The ongoing discussions reflect the urgency of addressing security concerns in the capital, as well as the need for comprehensive strategies to safeguard the city’s stability and protect its citizens.
