Iraqi Militias Coordinate with Yemeni Forces to Strengthen Capabilities

Iraqi Resistance Upgrades have accelerated as prominent Shiite armed groups coordinate closely with Yemeni forces, preparing for potential regional escalation. Harakat Al-Nujaba, one of Iraq’s leading Iran-aligned factions, confirmed ongoing efforts to strengthen weapons and technology. Iraqi Resistance Upgrades remain a top priority for the group, reflecting broader strategic ambitions in the region.

Formed in 2013 and led by Akram al-Kaabi, Harakat Al-Nujaba operates under Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). The United States designates it a terrorist organization. Firas Al-Yasser, a Political Council member, told Tasnim News that Iraqi resistance factions are implementing an “advanced security program.” He explained that the program reinforces leadership roles, integrates modern communication tools, and strengthens faction headquarters.

Moreover, Al-Yasser said the group is enhancing “unusual targets” that could significantly affect both Israel and the United States. He added that these measures are part of a broader strategy to protect national and regional interests. In addition, he highlighted the group’s readiness to respond quickly if security dynamics shift.

The discussion also focused on the future of US forces in Iraq. Al-Yasser criticized the continued American presence, calling it “illegitimate.” He stressed that the United States “does not intend to leave Iraq,” despite recent statements suggesting a “transition of tasks” rather than full withdrawal. Furthermore, he warned that attacks on US bases could resume if forces remain in the country.

Currently, approximately 2,500 US troops remain stationed in Iraq. Baghdad and Washington recently finalized an agreement outlining a roadmap for a complete withdrawal by September 2026. Nevertheless, Al-Yasser emphasized that Iraqi resistance factions remain vigilant and committed to defending Iraq’s sovereignty.

In conclusion, Iraqi Resistance Upgrades signal a clear intent to strengthen military and technological capabilities while monitoring US actions closely. Lastly, These efforts underscore the group’s determination to assert influence regionally and maintain operational readiness.
