IHEC Details Electoral Process Stages Ahead of November 11 Elections

Baghdad – The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) outlined the electoral process stages on Saturday. They explained each step from updating voter data to announcing final results. Jumana Al-Ghalay, described the electoral process stages clearly and in detail.

First, the process began with updating voter data. This included adding new information for those who recently reached voting age. Next, the commission verified the updated voter information carefully. According to Al-Ghalay, they are still analyzing and validating this data. These steps ensure that the voter list is accurate and up to date.

Then, the commission announced statistics about election candidates. The total number of candidates is 7,926. Among them, 5,701 are male, and 2,225 are female. This data highlights the diversity of candidates participating in the upcoming elections. They also include important activities after the voting day.

Voting will take place on November 11. Following this, IHEC will start announcing the preliminary election results. After that, the commission will accept appeals from candidates or parties. Finally, the commission will reveal the official final results. Al-Ghalay pointed out that there is no fixed timeline for these last stages yet. The process will proceed carefully to ensure fairness.

In summary, they are designed to maintain transparency and accuracy. The commission is taking steps to include all eligible voters and provide clear candidate information. These efforts aim to strengthen the credibility of the elections. The electoral process stages also offer room for appeals and verification. This approach seeks to build public trust and encourage voter participation.

With the elections approaching, attention will focus on these electoral process stages. They will shape Iraq’s political future in the months ahead. The commission encourages all eligible voters to participate actively in the elections. Engaging in the process helps strengthen democracy and ensures diverse representation across Iraq. IHEC’s commitment to clear electoral process stages builds confidence among voters and candidates alike.
