Iraq Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting Terrorism Victims

Iraq has reaffirmed its strong commitment to Supporting Terrorism Victims and strengthening global partnerships in the fight against extremism. Iraqi Ambassador to Cairo and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Qahtan Al-Janabi, delivered this message during a regional event focused on terrorism victims.

The ambassador led Iraq’s delegation at the celebration of the International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Terrorism. The event was held at the Arab League headquarters with the participation of several member states and international organizations.

In his address, Al-Janabi highlighted Iraq’s long and painful struggle against terrorism. He stressed that Iraqi citizens made heavy sacrifices to defend national and international peace and security. According to him, the battle did not end with military victories. Iraq also took bold steps to offer meaningful support to those harmed by violence.

Al-Janabi stated that Iraq continues to provide financial assistance to victims and is preparing to host an international conference for Supporting Terrorism Victims in 2026. This move, he noted, reflects Iraq’s moral and humanitarian duty toward communities devastated by terrorism.

He also underscored Iraq’s firm position in backing United Nations efforts in counterterrorism and victim empowerment. Iraq is actively collaborating with friendly nations and relevant UN agencies to ensure that survivors are reintegrated into society as productive and active members.

Al-Janabi shed light on Iraq’s establishment of the National Counter-Terrorism Center. The center prioritizes comprehensive assistance for terrorism victims, including psychological care, legal aid, and social reintegration programs. He emphasized that Iraq is committed to addressing the long-term effects of terrorism—not just on a security level but also through healing and justice.

The ambassador concluded by reaffirming Iraq’s ongoing dedication to combating terrorism in all its forms. He stated that Supporting Terrorism Victims remains a national priority, reflecting core values of justice and humanity. Al-Janabi also thanked the Arab League for organizing the event and praised its role in promoting solidarity on such an essential humanitarian issue.

Through initiatives like these, Iraq positions itself as a key voice in Supporting Terrorism Victims and leading regional efforts toward peace and recovery.
