Iraq Pushes to Host Key Round of Asian World Cup Qualifiers

Baghdad – Iraq seeks to host World Cup qualifiers as it works to elevate its status in Asian football. The Iraqi Football Association recently submitted an official request. It hopes to organize one of the two groups in the fourth round of the qualifiers.

This move reflects Iraq’s strong ambition to become a regional leader in international sports. The association declared full readiness to handle logistics, funding, and security. Backing from the Iraqi government adds strength to the proposal. Various state agencies have pledged full coordination to ensure success.

To support its case, Iraq contacted both FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation. Officials emphasized the importance of fairness in selecting host nations. Iraq urged transparency throughout the decision-making process. All nations, it said, must be treated equally with clear guidelines in place.

However, The upcoming fourth round will feature six teams. These teams placed third and fourth in the previous qualifying phase. They will be split into two groups. Group winners will qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup. Second-place teams will compete in a playoff for another chance to advance.

Iraq seeks to host World Cup qualifiers not only for national pride but also to promote local football culture. Hosting such a prestigious event would energize fans across the country. It could also boost sports infrastructure and inspire youth involvement.

In recent years, Iraq has made steady progress in sports event management. Hosting international tournaments has strengthened its organizational reputation. Government leaders continue to show commitment to developing sports at all levels.

To sum up, Iraq seeks to host World Cup qualifiers with confidence and strategic planning. By offering transparency and professionalism, Iraq positions itself as a strong contender. Its leaders believe the country can handle the responsibility and deliver a successful event.

In conclusion, Iraq’s bid signals a new chapter in its football journey. With united support from its government and people, Iraq stands ready to welcome the world. The coming months will show whether its vision becomes reality.
