Baghdad, Iraq – On Wednesday, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Tripoli, and Khaled Shakshak, the President of the Libyan Audit Bureau, held discussions aimed at enhancing transparency and advancing economic diplomacy.
During their meeting, Al-Sahhaf and Shakshak explored ways to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Iraq and Libya, particularly in the areas of finance, economy, and trade. Al-Sahhaf emphasized the importance of activating economic diplomacy between the two nations, noting that fostering cooperation between oversight institutions in Baghdad and Tripoli is key to supporting financial and administrative stability, while also paving the way for broader economic and commercial partnerships.
Shakshak expressed his desire to further activate technical and institutional coordination, highlighting the positive momentum between sectoral bodies in both capitals. He pointed out that the coming phase would involve deeper coordination, which is expected to positively influence bilateral relations.
This meeting is part of a shared effort to deepen institutional cooperation, promote effective financial oversight, and advance transparency, all contributing to the development of sustainable partnerships in the region.
