Iraq added to SI Scholarship program

Iraq added to SI Scholarship program marks a major milestone for Iraqi students. Indeed, the Swedish Institute officially included Iraq among eligible countries for the prestigious SI Scholarship for Global Professionals. As a result, this decision opens the door for Iraqis to pursue fully funded Master’s degree programs in Sweden.

Furthermore, the announcement came through the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Sweden. Dr. Mohammed Adnan, Iraq’s Chargé d’Affaires in Sweden, welcomed the development. He said this achievement results from the hard work by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry and embassy. Together, their efforts aim to boost bilateral relations in scientific and cultural fields.

Dr. Adnan encouraged Iraqi students who want to develop their skills to apply for this scholarship. Moreover, he highlighted the high academic standards of Swedish universities. The SI Scholarship program represents a crucial part of Sweden’s international development cooperation strategy.

According to the Swedish Institute’s official website, the application period for the 2026-2027 academic year will open in autumn 2025. This new inclusion not only benefits Iraqi students but also strengthens academic and cultural ties between Iraq and Sweden.

The expansion of the SI Scholarship program to Iraq reflects growing collaboration between the two countries. It offers Iraqi students unique chances to study abroad without financial barriers. Additionally, the program supports Iraq’s long-term development goals by building human capital.

By joining the SI Scholarship program, Iraq shows a commitment to international education and knowledge exchange. This step may inspire more cooperation in scientific research and cultural projects. Iraqi students can now look forward to broadening their horizons through world-class education.

Iraq added to SI Scholarship program opens exciting new paths for future leaders and professionals. As more Iraqis take advantage of this opportunity, the country may benefit from increased innovation and global engagement.
