Doha Summit Must Deliver Action, Not Just Words, Says Iraqi Deputy Speaker

On Sunday, Mohsen Al-Mandlawi, the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, stressed the urgency of the Doha Summit. He called on Arab and Islamic leaders to move beyond statements and take real action against Zionist aggression in the region.

Al-Mandlawi also serves as President of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council. In his statement, he urged the summit to confront what he described as Zionist terrorism. He stated that the leaders have a duty to defend the dignity of the region and its people.

He pointed out that the Doha Summit comes at a critical time. The region currently faces dangerous and exceptional circumstances. Therefore, he believes the summit should become a historic milestone and not merely a stage for speeches.

According to Al-Mandlawi, Israel’s recent attack on a Hamas residential site in Doha demands a united response. He argued that this aggression shows blatant disregard for international law and human rights. Leaders must hold Israel accountable, he said.

He warned that failure to act decisively could lead to more violations. Instead, the summit should produce binding decisions that reflect the region’s collective strength. These decisions must also pressure the international community to enforce international law.

Furthermore, Al-Mandlawi emphasized the importance of respecting state sovereignty. He called for an immediate end to the genocide in Gaza. In addition, he urged the international community to allow unhindered humanitarian aid into affected areas.

“The Doha Summit must rise to the level of these serious challenges,” Al-Mandlawi stated. “This meeting will shape the future—toward peace or more violence.”

He insisted that real outcomes from the summit will determine the Middle East’s direction. Either it moves toward stability and development, or it sinks deeper into chaos.

In conclusion, Al-Mandlawi reiterated that the Doha Summit carries a historic responsibility. Leaders must act boldly, adopt concrete measures, and prove that Arab and Islamic unity can bring real change.
