Condolences from Iraqi Parliament Speaker on the Passing of Pope Francis

Baghdad – Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani extended his heartfelt condolences on the passing of Pope Francis, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.

In a statement, the Speaker conveyed, “It is with great sadness that we received the news of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, who dedicated his life to the service of humanity.”

He further stated, “We offer our sincere condolences to our Christian brothers in Iraq and around the world, while reflecting on the Pope’s unwavering support for Iraq and his solidarity with the Iraqi people, both within the country and abroad.”

Al-Mashhadani praised the late Pope as a shining example of humanity, emphasizing his efforts to promote tolerance and the values of love across the globe.
