Iraq Expands Solar Energy Across Schools and Health Centers

Iraq’s government advances renewable energy as it installs solar systems in 307 schools and 25 health centers. This initiative highlights Iraq’s commitment to modern energy solutions and reducing pressure on the national electricity grid. Iraq’s expansion of solar energy demonstrates a strategic step toward sustainability.

Adnan Al-Arabi, deputy head of the Government Communication Team, confirmed that Nusair Karim, head of the National Team for Renewable Energy, leads this major project. Moreover, companies have already begun installing high-capacity solar systems in government buildings. Additionally, a new solar manufacturing plant is expected to open soon in Karbalaa Governorate. This facility will provide electricity to the national grid in Karbalaa and parts of Babylon.

The government also focuses on supporting citizens directly. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has instructed the distribution of roughly 2,500 solar systems to low-income families. In addition, the Central Bank and local financing programs continue offering installment plans to make solar adoption easier. These combined measures help Iraq’s population access sustainable energy while relieving grid pressure.

Furthermore, Iraq’s renewable energy expansion strengthens environmental policies and promotes clean energy development nationwide. By integrating solar power in public institutions, Iraq ensures reliable electricity for schools and health centers. Citizens also benefit as solar systems reduce electricity costs and improve energy access.

Meanwhile, experts emphasize that Iraq’s expansion of solar energy supports both economic and social growth. The initiative encourages private companies to invest in renewable energy technologies, fostering innovation and job creation. In turn, the national grid becomes more stable and less dependent on traditional power sources.

In conclusion, Iraq’s expansion of solar energy reflects a national commitment to sustainability and citizen support. By installing solar systems in schools, health centers, and low-income households, Iraq advances its clean energy goals and reduces electricity grid pressure. Iraq’s expansion of solar energy demonstrates a clear path toward modern, reliable, and environmentally friendly power solutions.
