Iraq Condemns Israeli Airstrikes, Calls for International Action

Baghdad – Iraq condemns Israeli airstrikes that targeted Syria earlier this week, describing them as a direct attack on regional peace. In a statement, the Foreign Ministry denounced what it called “the Israeli entity’s” strike on Damascus. Officials labeled the action a clear breach of international law and United Nations resolutions.

The Ministry firmly rejected any aggression that places civilians in harm’s way. It warned that these repeated attacks increase Syria’s humanitarian suffering. Furthermore, the Ministry stressed that ongoing military strikes threaten wider regional security.

Iraq condemns Israeli airstrikes not only as illegal but also as part of what it believes is a broader agenda. The statement accused Israel of using false justifications to expand influence and disrupt regional stability. It cautioned against any further steps that violate Syrian sovereignty.

In strong language, Iraq urged the international community to step in without delay. Officials called on global actors to assume legal and moral responsibility. They emphasized that decisive international action could prevent more violations in the future. Such intervention, the Ministry stated, would support both regional and global peace.

The Ministry also highlighted the dire humanitarian situation in Syria. It called for full respect for the rights and dignity of all Syrian citizens. Iraq emphasized the need for serious national dialogue within Syria to restore peace.

The statement promoted talks between the Syrian government and various communities. This dialogue, Iraq noted, should aim to protect human rights and rebuild social cohesion. The Ministry underlined that any political solution must include all groups.

Iraq reaffirmed its long-standing opposition to violations of state sovereignty. It demanded an end to what it sees as external interference under any pretext. The government warned that continued silence could lead to further destabilization.

Iraq condemns Israeli airstrikes once again and called on international leaders to act. It believes that without pressure, these violations will persist and threaten peace across the Middle East.
