Iraqi Fighters Shine at World Championship

Iraqi fighters shine on the global stage after winning four medals at the Senior World Muay Thai Championship in Turkey. The international event hosted athletes from over 75 countries, making it one of the most competitive tournaments in the sport’s calendar.

The silver medal came through the exceptional teamwork of Ali Hashim Sabah and Ali Mohammed Lutfi. Their synchronized performance in the Muay Thai Doubles category impressed judges and earned Iraq a place on the podium. This achievement shows the strength of Iraqi fighters and their growing presence in the global Muay Thai community.

In addition to the silver, Iraq added three bronze medals to its tally. Dhia Al-Din Ta’ma and Nawar Haider Abbas performed powerfully in the Mai Muay Doubles category. Meanwhile, Ahmed Haitham Abbas showcased deep cultural expression in the Wai Kru discipline, earning another bronze. The fourth medal came from Salah Safaa Hassan, who fought fiercely in a combat category and secured a hard-earned bronze medal.

Each athlete demonstrated high energy, focus, and dedication throughout the championship. Their performances displayed discipline and training that rivals the world’s best. Iraqi fighters shine not just because of their talent but also because of their relentless drive and preparation.

Mustafa Jabbar Alak, President of the Iraqi Muay Thai Federation, praised the athletes’ performance. He noted that their high technical skills reflect Iraq’s progress in the sport. He also credited the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, led by Aqeel Muftan, for its critical support in preparing the team for international success.

This outstanding result highlights a growing momentum for Iraq in martial arts. Iraqi fighters shine when supported by strong institutions and national pride. Their recent victories inspire the next generation to step into the ring and carry the flag forward with courage.
