President Nechirvan Barzani to Attend Tehran Dialogue Forum Following Baghdad Summit

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani is set to arrive in Tehran on Saturday evening after concluding his official visit to Baghdad, according to the Kurdistan Regional Presidency.

His visit comes at the official invitation of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to participate in the Tehran Dialogue Forum (TDF), a high-level diplomatic platform designed to foster regional dialogue and cooperation. Scheduled to begin on Sunday, the forum will bring together senior officials from 53 countries, including Persian Gulf ministers and European delegations, to address key regional and global issues.

The Kurdistan Regional Presidency emphasized that Barzani’s attendance reflects the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to peaceful dialogue and cooperative diplomacy. The statement highlighted the Region’s support for efforts to promote stability, peace, and sustainable development throughout the Middle East.

During the forum, President Nechirvan Barzani is expected to outline the Kurdistan Region’s vision for regional cooperation, grounded in mutual respect and shared interests. His speech will underscore the importance of peaceful coexistence and collective security in an increasingly fragile geopolitical environment.

Barzani’s agenda also includes high-level meetings with senior Iranian leaders to discuss the state of bilateral relations between Iran and both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as wider developments in the Middle East.

The Tehran Dialogue Forum 2025 represents a key diplomatic moment for the region, and President Nechirvan Barzani’s participation further cements the Kurdistan Region’s role as a strategic actor in regional affairs. His back-to-back engagements in Baghdad and Tehran signal a growing effort to position Erbil as a bridge-builder amid escalating regional tensions.
