Call for Arab Unity Echoes Through Conference

Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani called for strong action and genuine commitment toward achieving true Arab unity. He addressed a gathering of Arab parliamentary leaders, urging them to adopt clear stances on key regional crises.

Al-Mashhadani emphasized the need to support Palestine, Syria, Yemen, and other suffering nations. He proposed including a detailed paragraph in the final statement of the conference. This paragraph should express firm Arab support and outline actionable steps toward peace and stability.

In his speech, he praised Algeria for hosting the conference and for its historic role in defending Arab causes. He also expressed pride in representing Iraq at such an important forum focused on unity, dignity, and shared destiny.

The Speaker warned of ongoing destruction in Gaza and the continued suffering of the Palestinian people. He described the region’s crises as painful but unifying. According to him, true Arab unity must begin with collective awareness and a shared moral stance.

He stated that Syria continues to struggle under the weight of past destruction. Yemen faces despair after years of conflict. Lebanon remains trapped in a cycle of economic collapse and political stagnation. These countries need both political and humanitarian support.

Al-Mashhadani urged his peers to go beyond statements and embrace action. He said that words without follow-through will no longer help the Arab world move forward. He demanded practical decisions that deliver relief and rebuild trust between governments and people.

He reminded attendees that Arab nations share one fate. When one country suffers, the entire region feels the pain. He stressed that the unity of Arab voices can counter destruction and restore dignity.

The Speaker concluded by asking participants to include his proposed paragraph in the final declaration. He expressed hope that the conference would reflect the spirit of true Arab unity in both message and outcome.

With determined voices and bold ideas, leaders gathered to show that true Arab unity remains possible.
