Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein emphasized the importance of dialogue to reduce regional tensions and ensure stability during his meeting with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
During their discussions, Hussein stressed the critical link between Syrian security and regional stability, noting that any disturbance in one would directly impact the other. He called for dialogue as the primary means of easing tensions in the region.
The two ministers also focused on strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing economic cooperation, and discussing the political changes in the Middle East, particularly in Syria. Hussein highlighted Iraq’s progress in security, inviting Finnish companies to contribute to the country’s reconstruction and take advantage of investment opportunities arising from the improved security climate.
Furthermore, Hussein extended an invitation to Valtonen to visit Iraq, to better understand the political and security dynamics firsthand and foster further collaboration between the two nations.
