Duwanem Al-Shu’la Project Nears Completion

The Duwanem Al-Shu’la Project is moving steadily toward completion in northern Baghdad. Authorities confirmed that work will wrap up soon. The Service and Engineering Effort Team continues to push forward on vital infrastructure projects in the area.

Abdul Razzaq Al-Maliki, head of the team, stated that service developments in Duwanem Al-Shu’la are progressing as planned. The project includes rehabilitating over 600 streets—main and secondary—across the district. These roads will significantly improve mobility for residents and ease daily commuting challenges.

Additionally, engineers completed the construction of two major sewage stations. These new systems now meet the area’s growing demand for waste management. Officials believe this development will reduce flooding and improve sanitation standards.

Moreover, the Duwanem Al-Shu’la Project includes a new main road stretching approximately 6 kilometers. This road is 40 meters wide and links the district to nearby neighborhoods. Eventually, it will connect directly with the Salah Al-Din Expressway, better known as the Shu’la Expressway.

This connection serves a critical purpose. It forms part of the government’s traffic decongestion plan for the capital. Planners expect the new corridor to reduce delays, support smoother transport, and increase access to essential services.

Local authorities emphasized the importance of this infrastructure initiative. They pointed out that the Duwanem Al-Shu’la Project reflects Baghdad’s broader development strategy. By upgrading roads and utilities, the city aims to raise living standards and create sustainable urban spaces.

Community members in the area have already noticed improvements. Cleaner streets, smoother roadways, and efficient drainage systems have started to change daily life. The team’s efforts show how focused planning and timely action can reshape a district.

The Duwanem Al-Shu’la Project remains a key part of Baghdad’s urban progress. With continued work, officials expect full integration of the new systems very soon.
