Iraq Enhances Environmental Safety with Pollution Monitoring Sensors

Baghdad, Iraq- Iraq is taking a major step toward environmental safety by installing pollution monitoring sensors in meteorological stations across the country. Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has approved these measures to strengthen pollution detection and protect public health.

Transport Minister Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi has been a strong supporter of this initiative. He emphasized the importance of integrating these sensors into Iraq’s 24-hour operational meteorological stations. This move aims to provide accurate data and improve environmental risk management.

Dr. Salman Al-Bahadli, Director General of the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismology, explained the benefits of these sensors. He said they will issue early warnings when pollution levels rise beyond safe limits. This is especially important for people with respiratory conditions who are vulnerable to air pollution.

In addition to monitoring air quality, the sensors will track pollution in water and soil. This will allow authorities to detect environmental risks early and take preventive actions. The data collected will also help researchers analyze pollution patterns and develop solutions.

Iraq’s Climate and Scientific Research Center highlighted another major advantage of these sensors. They will identify both industrial and natural pollution sources. This information will help policymakers create effective pollution control strategies. By understanding the main causes of pollution, the government can take targeted action to improve environmental safety.

Furthermore, these sensors will support scientific research. Universities and research institutions will have access to precise environmental data. This will aid studies on climate change and environmental sustainability, leading to better policies and solutions.

By activating pollution monitoring sensors, Iraq is making a strong commitment to environmental safety. The government is prioritizing public health while improving research and policymaking. As these sensors start operating, Iraq will have better tools to manage pollution and create a healthier future.
