Electronic Payment System Expands in Legal and Real Estate Offices

Baghdad, Iraq- The Ministry of Justice has taken new steps to promote digital transactions in legal and real estate departments. Authorities aim to enhance efficiency and reduce reliance on cash payments. Officials emphasize that digital solutions will improve service speed and transparency.

Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Laibi confirmed that most transactions now follow an electronic process. He explained that only a few minor transactions still require in-person visits. These include attorney fees and expert charges, which need a single visit for completion.

Laibi also stated that all ministry directorates currently operate under the electronic collection system (POS). This shift aligns with the government’s broader effort to modernize financial transactions. Officials stress that expanding digital payment options ensures smoother operations across all legal offices.

Earlier, the Ministry of Justice announced the implementation of the POS system for fee collection. This initiative allows digital payments in notary offices across Baghdad and other provinces. To support this change, officials supplied all offices with electronic deduction devices. Additionally, they created dedicated digital accounts to receive payments directly.

Authorities also focused on training accountants to manage electronic transactions efficiently. The ministry provided specialized programs to develop their expertise. Officials believe this training will ensure accurate and swift processing of financial transactions.

The introduction of digital payment systems reflects the government’s commitment to modernization. Officials highlight that reducing cash transactions enhances security and minimizes errors. They also emphasize that digital payments improve record-keeping and accountability.

As more departments adopt electronic payment solutions, officials expect smoother transactions and fewer delays. The Ministry of Justice remains committed to expanding digital services. Authorities continue to explore new ways to enhance convenience for citizens using legal and real estate services.
