Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani Meets UN Special Representative Mohamed Al-Hassan

Baghdad, Iraq- On Wednesday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Iraq, Mr. Mohamed Al-Hassan. The meeting, as reported by the Prime Minister’s Media Office, focused on strengthening cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations to address pressing challenges and achieve common goals.

The discussions highlighted the importance of enhancing collaboration between Iraq and the UN, particularly in confronting regional and global issues. They also addressed the latest developments in the region, emphasizing the UN’s vital role in alleviating the impacts of war and supporting the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.

Additionally, the two officials discussed the importance of cooperative efforts to support Syria in organizing an inclusive political process that ensures participation from all components and maintains the country’s territorial integrity.
