Baghdad, Iraq- The Ministry of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has successfully installed solar power systems in 81 schools across Erbil, Slemani, Duhok, Halabja, and Kirkuk.
According to ministry spokesperson Saman Siwayli, the initiative aims to provide 24-hour electricity to schools, eliminating dependence on power generators and ensuring uninterrupted learning.
To further expand the project, KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has allocated IQD 5 billion to equip 76 more schools with solar power.
