Baghdad, Iraq- Syrian Foreign Minister Assaad Al-Shibani is expected to visit Baghdad next month, according to Iraqi government sources who revealed the news on Wednesday. While the visit was initially planned for an earlier date, it had been postponed due to security concerns from the Syrian side and some recent remarks made by Iraqi officials that were seen as negatively affecting the timing.
The visit is now scheduled to take place within the next two weeks, although the exact date remains subject to change. During his visit, Al-Shibani is expected to discuss key bilateral issues and coordinate on topics that will be raised at the upcoming Arab summit in Baghdad this May.
This visit follows an official invitation extended by Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein to his Syrian counterpart.
