Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim Reaffirms Support for Egypt’s Efforts to Protect Palestinian People

Baghdad, Iraq- Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim, the head of the Hikma National Movement, reaffirmed his full support for Egypt’s ongoing efforts to prevent the displacement of the Palestinian people. In a statement issued today, Tuesday, Sayyid Al-Hakim detailed his recent visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, during which he met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He conveyed Iraq’s deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast position in backing the Palestinian cause and pledged continued support for Egypt’s leadership in safeguarding the Palestinian people’s right to remain on their land.

“We expressed our support for Egypt’s leadership and people in their efforts to prevent the displacement of the Palestinian people and to preserve the essence of the Palestinian cause,” Sayyid Al-Hakim stated. He underscored Iraq’s commitment to the Palestinian national cause, emphasizing the importance of preserving Palestinian land.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the growing relationship between Iraq and Egypt. Sayyid Al-Hakim expressed satisfaction with the continuous development of ties, particularly in the area of cooperation on reconstruction projects. He commended the Iraqi government’s efforts to ease challenges for Egyptian companies involved in infrastructure projects in Iraq.

On regional matters, Sayyid Al-Hakim reiterated Iraq’s commitment to promoting regional stability and fostering dialogue to resolve differences. He emphasized Iraq’s desire to support the unity and territorial integrity of Syria, allowing the Syrian people the freedom to determine their future. Additionally, he stressed the importance of supporting Lebanese institutions and maintaining Lebanon’s neutrality in regional conflicts.

Looking ahead, Sayyid Al-Hakim expressed Iraq’s eagerness for the success of the upcoming regular Arab summit, set to be hosted in Baghdad. He highlighted the need for strengthening Arab cooperation and creating a formula for economic and political integration among Arab nations to ensure they maintain their position in the face of global shifts. Given the region’s rich human and natural resources, he believes the Arab world is well-positioned to navigate challenges and ensure a prosperous future for its people.
