Prime Minister Launches Major Development Projects in Dhi Qar

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani officially kicked off the implementation of three major development projects in Dhi Qar Governorate on Monday, marking a significant step in boosting infrastructure and public services in the region. The total investment for these initiatives amounts to 2.195 trillion Iraqi dinars.

The launched projects include:

  1. Nasiriyah Combined-Cycle Power Plant – A natural gas-powered facility with a production capacity of 921 megawatts, aimed at enhancing the region’s energy supply.
  2. Integrated Medical City in Nasiriyah – A comprehensive healthcare complex featuring seven hospitals, providing a total of 700 beds to serve the growing medical needs of the population.
  3. Infrastructure Development in Suq Al-Shuyukh District – A project focused on improving essential services and facilities within the district, supporting sustainable urban growth.

These strategic initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to advancing key sectors and improving the quality of life for citizens in southern Iraq.
