Baghdad, Iraq- On Sunday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shi’a Al-Sudani announced the establishment of an Iraqi hospital in Gaza, aimed at providing much-needed medical support to the Palestinian people. This directive follows a meeting between the Prime Minister and Iraqi doctor Mohammed Taher Abu Ragheef, affectionately known as the “Ambassador to Humanity,” in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian efforts.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office, Prime Minister Al-Sudani praised Dr. Abu Ragheef’s courageous response to the ongoing tragedy in Gaza, describing his efforts as a proud reflection of the values and principles that characterize the Iraqi people’s unwavering support for Palestine and its just cause.
As a gesture of appreciation for his selfless work, the Prime Minister ordered that Dr. Abu Ragheef be granted a residential unit in central Baghdad and a diplomatic passport. In addition, Al-Sudani directed the establishment of the Iraqi hospital in Gaza to provide vital medical services to the Palestinian people, emphasizing Iraq’s strong humanitarian stance.
Dr. Abu Ragheef expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and acknowledged Iraq’s continuous efforts, both at the official and public levels, in supporting Gaza. He also commended the country’s principled position and its previous initiatives aimed at assisting the Palestinian cause.
