President Rashid Calls for Strengthening Democracy and Preserving National Achievements

Baghdad, Iraq – President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized on Wednesday the importance of strengthening the country’s democratic progress and safeguarding its national achievements.

In a statement, Rashid reflected on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr and his sister, Alawiya Bint al-Huda, marking the day the oppressive regime was overthrown. He highlighted the bravery of the martyr al-Sadr in opposing the dictatorship that led Iraq into wars, senseless conflicts, and harsh policies against its people.

Rashid reiterated the need to fortify Iraq’s democratic path, protect its accomplishments, and unite efforts to prevent the repetition of past tragedies. He called for a collective movement toward a future where all Iraqis can live in security and peace.
