Kirkuk Traffic Tragedy Leaves Multiple Dead and 24 Injured in High-Speed Multi-Vehicle Crash on Busy Road

The Kirkuk traffic tragedy has shocked residents after a deadly road accident killed several civilians and injured many others. The Kirkuk traffic tragedy also left three Peshmerga members wounded during the chaotic collision. As a result, emergency teams rushed to the scene to manage casualties and secure the area.

The crash occurred on Sunday evening in Kirkuk and involved multiple vehicles. According to reports from journalist Soran Kamaran, the accident caused several deaths and heavy damage. In addition, the truck driver also died at the scene, increasing the overall toll.

Eyewitnesses described the incident as extremely violent and sudden. One witness said the truck moved at a very high speed before impact. He estimated the speed at nearly 120 kilometers per hour. Consequently, the truck struck six to seven vehicles in its path.

Another witness compared the scene to destruction. He said the truck did not stop until it overturned. Therefore, panic spread quickly among drivers and passengers trapped in their cars. Rescue efforts began immediately as bystanders called for help.

The Kirkuk traffic tragedy resulted in significant human losses. Officials confirmed six fatalities, including one man, four women, and one child. Meanwhile, 24 people sustained injuries, including 17 men, six women, and one child. Among the injured, three members of the Peshmerga forces received medical treatment.

Authorities also confirmed that one of the deceased worked for the Kurdistan Regional Government. This detail added further attention to the severity of the incident. Consequently, regional officials coordinated a rapid response effort.

Health authorities in the Kurdistan Region responded quickly to the crisis. Saman Barzanji, Minister of Health, contacted Kirkuk health officials to coordinate assistance. Moreover, he confirmed readiness to send additional support if required.

Hospitals in Erbil remained on high alert throughout the night. Medical teams prepared emergency units, ambulances, and blood supplies. Therefore, officials ensured they could receive injured patients at any time.

In addition, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw announced full hospital readiness across the province. He confirmed that coordination continued between emergency services and health departments. As a result, injured victims received expanded access to medical care.

The Kirkuk traffic tragedy has raised renewed concerns about road safety in the region. Authorities continue investigating the cause of the crash. Meanwhile, families of victims await further updates and support.

Ultimately, the Kirkuk traffic tragedy highlights the urgent need for stricter traffic enforcement. It also underscores the risks of high-speed driving on busy roads. As investigations continue, officials promise further action to prevent similar incidents.
