Iraq’s Tallest Hotel Tower Rises in Central Baghdad

The Baghdad Grand Palace Hotel is emerging as a landmark project that will transform the city’s skyline. Rising more than 40 stories, it promises to be Iraq’s tallest hotel.

Currently under construction in central Baghdad, the tower is expected to reshape the hospitality sector and attract high-end tourism. Moreover, it will strengthen Baghdad’s position as a regional destination for luxury travelers.

Located in the upscale Harthiya district on Al-Zaytoon Street, the hotel offers direct views of Al-Zawraa Park. The development spans approximately 9,600 square meters, combining accommodations with commercial and leisure facilities.

The Baghdad Grand Palace Hotel will feature over 480 rooms and suites, including presidential and royal accommodations built to five-star international standards. Additionally, a panoramic observation deck at the top will offer indoor seating and sweeping views of the capital.

Furthermore, the project includes a range of luxury amenities:

  • High-end international restaurants and cafés
  • Indoor and rooftop swimming pools
  • A fully equipped health and fitness club
  • Conference and meeting halls
  • Event and banquet spaces
  • Spacious parking facilities
  • A private helipad at the tower’s top
  • Luxury retail outlets on lower floors

Observers say the Baghdad Grand Palace Hotel could become a defining architectural landmark in Baghdad. They believe it may encourage more international hotel brands and developers to enter the Iraqi market. Consequently, competition could improve service quality and pricing over the next few years.

Experts highlight that the tower will signal a new era of high-end urban development in Baghdad. As such, it could redefine the city’s tourism and hospitality landscape for decades to come.

In addition, the hotel’s strategic location and luxury offerings may attract both business and leisure travelers. Its rooftop amenities and conference facilities aim to position Baghdad as a hub for regional meetings and events.

With construction underway, the project is already drawing attention from investors and city planners alike. Once completed, the Baghdad Grand Palace Hotel will not only reshape the skyline but also symbolize renewed confidence in Iraq’s urban and economic growth.
