Iraqi Train Derails on Baghdad-Fallujah Line, Causing Major Damage

Baghdad Telegraph

Baghdad, Iraq- A train derailed on the Baghdad-Fallujah railway line, causing significant damage to parts of the track. The incident occurred in the afternoon, leading to disruptions on this important route that connects the two cities.

According to local sources, the train went off the tracks, resulting in substantial destruction to the infrastructure. Emergency response teams were quickly deployed to the site to assess the damage and begin repairs.

This derailment has raised concerns about the condition of Iraq’s railway network, which has struggled with infrastructure maintenance and investment. Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the derailment, but they are actively working to restore normal services.

The Baghdad-Fallujah line, a vital route for both passengers and freight, was temporarily shut down as efforts were made to clear the wreckage and repair the damaged tracks.
