On Sunday, Iraqi Speaker of Parliament Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to strengthening its relations with Turkey and expanding areas of cooperation between the two nations.
During a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who is visiting Iraq, Al-Mashhadani, alongside Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, discussed key bilateral and regional issues, including the rapid developments unfolding in neighboring countries.
The Speaker of Parliament emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral ties and broaden mutual cooperation, aiming to benefit both nations in line with existing agreements.
The two sides also aligned on regional matters, agreeing to support initiatives that foster stability in Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine, particularly through reconstruction efforts, aid delivery, and promoting societal reconciliation.
Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan reiterated his country’s dedication to maintaining robust relations with Iraq, reaffirming Turkey’s commitment to honoring the agreements already established between the two countries.
