Iraq Extends Invitation to Syria for Upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad

Baghdad – On behalf of President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, Iraq’s Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakak al-Badrani, delivered an official invitation to Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to attend the Arab Summit scheduled to take place in Baghdad on the 17th of next month.

During his visit to Damascus, the Minister highlighted the significance of the summit, noting that it will serve as a platform to address pressing issues facing the Arab world. In addition to delivering the invitation, he met with the Syrian Minister of Culture to discuss ways to deepen cultural ties between the two nations.

The Syrian Minister emphasized the deep-rooted historical and cultural connection between Iraq and Syria, describing the two countries as part of the same enduring civilization. He stressed that despite borders, the shared heritage and unity of the people remain strong. He expressed a commitment to strengthening cooperation and cultural exchange across multiple sectors.
